Final supporters
- We are a community group composed of South Phoenix Residents, Business Owners and Property Owners. We are against the light rail expansion into south Phoenix as it is currently designed. When the vote was taken for the approval of the current plan, our communities in the affected area were not informed of the negative impacts it will have on our community.
Because of this, if the light rail expansion doesn’t include the following we are against its construction.
1. Four lanes for vehicular traffic.
2. Expedited construction, including worker shifts around the clock, 24 hours a day.
3. Construction by zones and in an orderly way, leaving zones unimpeached by construction while other are being worked on.
4. An end to the threats and intentions of taking our properties.
Somos un grupo comunitario formado por residentes del sur de Phoenix, dueños de negocios y dueños de propiedades. Estamos en contra de la construcción del tren ligero en la zona del sur de Phoenix como esta designado.
En el momento que se votó por la aprobación del plan actual, la comunidad de esta zona no fue informada del impacto negativo a nuestra comunidad.
Por lo cual, si el plan del tren ligero no incluye lo siguiente, nos unimos en contra de su desarrolló.

2. Construcción rápida que incluya turnos a todas horas, 24 horas al día.
3. Construcción por zonas y en forma ordenada, dejando partes del sector libres de construcción mientras otras son construidas.
4. El alto a las amenazas e intenciones de decomisar nuestras propiedades.

I really never expected this level of response when I first put these concerns out into the world. It is clear this momentum belongs entirely to the residents who refuse to be ignored.

Light rail = 1) crime coming to the neighborhood. 2) long left turn wait times. 3) Two traffic lanes will lead to additional response time for police, fire and ambulances. Stop treating South Phoenix like an unwanted neighbor, every other area where light rail has been place has four lanes. So why is South Phoenix different?
Keep spreading the word! I do not agree with the route or expansion of light rail in South Phoenix, it will disrupt the culture and familial area with increased rent for families already living in the area.
I purchased my home 3 years ago and was never made aware that the light rail construction would reduce the lanes. How this was made transparent I have no idea.
Light rail should ONLY be an addition to traffic NEVER a reduction in traffic and business access! If you proceed with your plan, you'll force businesses to close, loose tax revenue and piss-off your constituents & customers.
central ave lost luster years ago, this will kill business and take many years to redevelop new ones. we need 4 lanes for current businesses to try to stay alive or no train I would prefer no train period.
This is a waste of money. It is not needed. Better bus service would serve the needs of the community better.

I LOVE PETE'S on South Central!!! Been going there almost every weekend since 1974. Please leave it be!!!!!
