The local council has officially approved the extension of parking to two hours at no additional charge. I am grateful to the 442 people who supported this initiative throughout our campaign. Please monitor the signage in town to ensure these new terms are being applied correctly.

I am a business owner in Naas and I feel after being closed for 14 weeks the council need to help us to get our businesses back on track again so free parking would really make a difference

Parking is very expensive for local people wanting to do a few messages which keeps local businesses open. Poor parking options plus charges are the main driver for me going to the Tesco Extra... so much quicker and easier

I think this is very important for continuing business in town and to encourage people to shop local. If they can park for free for short trips like popping to the post office, or the bank, it may encourage them to also do other business.

I suggested this a few years ago, I saw it in waterford, dungarvan, and thought it was a great idea. The small town was struggling and introduced this and people came back to shop there. Big shopping centres are attractive for lots of reasons, one big reason is free parking. We have lots of lovely retailers in Naas, let's support them as best we can.

I have been ticketed for in the town when my Child’s eye appointment was delayed and again and when the parking app failed to work whilst at a festival in the town last year. On both occasions I was spending money locally (I think I was roughly 20 mins late back in both occasions) and it really makes me think hard about parking there now!

It’s nearly impossible if customers want to call to a number of businesses to do this in one hour. If they return and find a ticket that’s the last we will see of them. A little common sense goes a long way
