We, the residents of Ulundi, demand the urgent restoration of electricity, clear communication about the ongoing outage, and a concrete plan to improve service delivery throughout our community.

Since Sunday, 18 October 2026, residents have been without electricity, with the outage continuing as of Wednesday, 21 October. Families are losing groceries, food is spoiling, businesses are losing income, and households are struggling with everyday activities.

Our concerns extend beyond electricity. Broken street lights leave our neighbourhoods unsafe at night, potholes damage vehicles and make roads dangerous, and unreliable water and sanitation services affect our quality of life. Meanwhile, unemployment continues to challenge our young people, who need meaningful job opportunities, skills development, and support for local businesses.

Residents of Section A, B North, C Section, D Section, D2, Mbilane, Zondela, and surrounding areas deserve equal attention, reliable services, and respect.

We call on the municipality to restore electricity urgently, explain the causes of outages, communicate repair timelines, maintain roads and street lights, improve essential services, and create practical opportunities for young people.

We also demand transparency, accountability, and regular community meetings where residents can raise concerns and receive meaningful responses.

Ulundi deserves better. Our voices matter, our needs matter, and our future matters. We, the undersigned residents, stand united in demanding action, accountability, and lasting change for our community.
