We, the residents of Zone 17, Sebokeng, Gauteng, call for urgent intervention regarding the recurring electricity outages affecting our community.
Every few weeks, residents are left without electricity, often with little to no communication or updates about the cause, expected restoration time, or measures being taken to prevent repeated outages.
We call on the relevant authorities to investigate these recurring outages, improve communication with residents, and provide a permanent and reliable electricity solution for Zone 17.

It is important because at zone 17 electric is always off and Eskom takes time to restore it. We are struggling because of this electric
I am signing this petition because recurring electricity outages in Zone 17 disrupt households, learners’ studies, local businesses and community safety. Residents deserve a reliable electricity supply, timely communication, clear restoration timeframes and a permanent solution. The responsible authorities must investigate the root causes, implement corrective measures and be held accountable.
I work from home full time so this has an impact and I have a someone that uses breathing machine everyday
We are tired of constant electricity outages in zone 17. This unexpected and prolonged outages ruins our appliances, and pits our jobs at risk because some of us work from home. It must come to an end…

This is important to me because i believe that service delivery shouldn't be rocket science. It is the bare minimum and when the bare minimum because the source of our pain, then the institutions we are being asked to put in power are failing us. Electricity is a basic right — BASIC— and the fact that jargon is being used to discourage us shows that we aren't being represented in good faith.
