We face several challenges as the Carbon Canyon Community. Wildfire, Traffic, Crime, and New Development are just a few. We have a choice. We can complain among ourselves, go to another meeting, and do nothing. Or, we can agree to work together as One Canyon Community and speak out to local and state governments. No New Development in Carbon Canyon.

Carbon Canyon Road has been a commuter passthrough between the counties. For those of us who live in the canyon, we have to interweave into this madness regularly. The current headache isn’t just during commuter times but is exacerbated during ongoing maintenance, accidents, school transports and the occasional cyclist. Projects to widen the road and add a traffic light are incapable of resolving our current problem let alone the burden of new homes. More homes will make a bad plight worse.

No more homes! Only one way in and one way out. During an emergency evacuation we will be stuck.

Overloading the roads during a fire evacuation is a huge concern in Carbon Canyon. In addition, the traffic is already slowed and backed up Monday-Fridays mornings and evenings due to traffic. Recent illegal canyon use by oversized trucks has become a serious traffic problem, also. Carbon Canyon is already at its maximum population and use capacity.

Carbon Canyon Road is a Goat Path. The canyon is already overbuit. For the well-being of those already stuffed within our canyon, we do not need more houses. Let's not see our neighbors and their homes turn into another Paradise Disaster.
Our wildlife is already paying a dear price because of the over building, we need to protect what is left of their homes too.

This is a one way in - one way out - single lane each way double yellow old highway. Houses front the highway. It’s not only historical it’s dangerous. It’s a high are that no one can get and keep insurance for their homes. Additional homes are a death warrant for many of us seniors who can’t move out or leave quickly.
