We ask the school to reopen Math AA HL in French for the 12–13 students who chose it. The class was cancelled just before the start of the school year, and those students were left with no choice but to take the subject in English.
This decision affects more than one group of students. Moving an entire class into the English AA HL sections makes those classes larger for everyone. In a subject like Math AA HL, where students need enough teacher support, small groups matter. When class sizes grow too much, it becomes harder to ask questions, follow the lesson, and get the help needed to do well.
Families and students made their choice in French for a reason. For some, it is the language they learn best in. For others, it is the setting that gives them the confidence to keep up with a demanding course. Cancelling the French class after so many students chose it is unfair and unnecessary, especially when the school could instead support both language options.
We believe the school should respect student choice and make room for Math AA HL in French. This would help the students who signed up for it and also keep the English classes from becoming overcrowded. We ask the school to reinstate Math AA HL in French and give students the fair access they were promised.
