As a French speaking person, having my math HL AA class in French would have a significant impact on my studies. It would definitely improve my learning, knowing that today, having the obligation to study math in English is a real struggle.

Maths HL are a pre-requisite for some degrees to university admissions and it is unfair and unacceptable for a school with the standing of Ecolint LGB to disadvantage students due to language of teaching (when they've been taught in French until year 12) versus proficiency in subject matter.

Opening this rigorous class in French would be beneficial to all, and would result in higher overall IB grades as in that way all students can perform in their language. The school claims to be bilingual, so it seems only fair to have this class as an option, especially for a course that impacts so many students. We were all promised an opening in this class at the end of the school year, only to quietly receive news barely a week before the start of school that this will not be an option.

It is an unfair decision to remove a French HL math class for students to whom it was promised and who worked very hard over 3 years to get the required grades in order to take it. Furthermore, the IB shouldn’t be the time to have to relearn the a subject in a whole different language. This gives us a disadvantage compared to other students who don’t need to spend as much time on the subject. Please make the IB fair for everyone.

My friends deserve to have an equal chance too succeed in math as me, if they suddenly change language they are at a disadvantage.

Opening a Maths AA HL class in French would not only allow me to understand and learn the complex content of Maths HL more effectively in a more comfortable learning environment, but it would also benefit students in the English Maths AA HL class by creating a smaller class size and, consequently, a better learning environment for everyone.
