We, students at North Salinas High School, are asking that senior night for football, cheer, and marching band to be on October 9th. 

The last football game of the season has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, therefore senior night is being moved to October 31st. That change takes away the setting that makes this tradition feel special. Senior night for these sports has been something that happens at night, when the stadium lights are on, the stands are full, and the whole community can be there together. These teams come together on Friday nights and put on a show for not only our school, but our community.

Last year we saw how much of a difference a day game can make. The Homecoming game was during the day, and less people went. It was hot, people were getting irritated, and many left early. That is not the kind of atmosphere senior night should have.

October 9th will be our last home game at night, so we are asking for just one more Friday night. Give these seniors the tradition they have earned, the crowd they deserve, and the night setting that makes senior night right.
