For years now we as Taylor County High School have had to experience graduation in the blazing Florida morning sun. Starting now, not only the Class of 2016 but the families, friends, and simple proud Taylor Countians all wish to change this ever going charade to one that is more comfortable for us all to enjoy this joyous occasion by simply changing the time of Graduation from the AM to one in the PM. This will enable to have a cooler atmosphere for us all and still have enough seating for all the wonderful supporters of the Class of 2016. Please, join with us and make your voice be heard! Beat the heat, enjoy the night!

The momentum behind this request for an evening graduation ceremony continues to grow as we approach one hundred signatures. Please direct others to this page so that we reach this milestone before we present our proposal to the administration.

Both of my daughters graduated from TCHS on very hot spring mornings. As a result, their grandmother who suffers from health problems could not attend because of the heat. Please change this for future graduates and their families.
Yes the heat was horrible, I know the our class ('15) was miserable most of the graduation... I was praying for it to end its ridiculous! We couldn't even enjoy that proud moment in our lives.
Taylor County High School students are doing our research. We have students looking at weather patterns and statistics. We are the only school in the surrounding areas that have a morning graduation, in the afternoon the temperature is much cooler and more people can attend without fear of heat injuries.
I graduated from TCHS in the evening at the football field . It was a wonderful experience for everyone. I'm not certain why the time was changed but it was obviously not a good idea.
I graduated in 2004 as well and I agree that it cant take place at TCHS gym. My brother, who jad a ticket, did not get in because it was fulled to capacity. The football field is a nice place to have it but it should be at a different time. 10am-2pm is usually the hottest part of the day. Please change the time!!!

Last year was unbearably hot. Small children attend this event for support their older siblings, family and friends. Last year there were even people selling water. Who brings cash to a graduation? It was crazy.
