PETITION FOR JUSTICE FOR THE LATE LEBOGANG CHAUKE
WE DEMAND JUSTICE! WE DEMAND SAFETY! NO BAIL FOR KENNETH SHABANGU!
We, the family of the late Lebogang Chauke, together with concerned members of the Extension community, are calling for justice following the tragic and brutal murder of our beloved Lebogang Chauke.
Our lives have been changed forever. We have lost a loved one, a family member and someone whose life mattered. No words can describe the pain, anger and heartbreak this tragedy has brought to our family.
As a family and community, we are deeply concerned about our safety. We fear for our lives and do not feel safe knowing that the accused could potentially return to our community.
COURT APPEARANCE – 8 OCTOBER 2026
Kenneth Shabangu appeared before the court at Mamelodi West on 8 October 2026 and was given a further court date of 5 November 2026.
As the family and Extension community, we want our voices to be heard before the next court appearance.
OUR DEMANDS ARE CLEAR:
We strongly oppose bail for Kenneth Shabangu.
We call on the court to consider the safety of the family, witnesses and the wider community when making its bail decision.
We ask that the accused remain in custody while the case proceeds, subject to the court's decision and applicable law.
We demand a fair and speedy legal process.
We call for the protection of Lebogang's family and everyone affected by this tragedy.
We do not want Kenneth Shabangu to return to the Extension community. We want our community to be safe and free from fear.
OUR MESSAGE IS CLEAR: WE DO NOT WANT HIM BACK IN OUR COMMUNITY.
The family and community should not have to live in fear. We want to feel safe in our own homes and neighbourhood.
We cannot bring Lebogang back, but we can stand together and demand justice in her name.
LEBOGANG DESERVED TO LIVE. HER LIFE MATTERED. HER FAMILY DESERVES JUSTICE.
We call upon every community member, friend, neighbour and person who believes in justice to sign this petition and stand with the Chauke family.

He killed his girlfriend
Kenneth Shabangu must not get bail. He is a danger to the community
We need justice for our sister
He killed my sister therefore he mist rot in jail..Justice must be served
Am signing because I lost a sister Tholakele must rot in jail
He killed a human being and ran away like nothing happened, he is an animal, he doesn’t deserve to be outside with human beings. WE DON’T NEED HIM OUTSIDE !!

I am signing this because he killed a woman who left behind a son and that son still needed a mother’s love and support he was the only person he had. No one deserves to die like that! So let him rot in jail
