We are asking Orana to introduce regular Mums & Bubs movie sessions, so parents of young babies (under 1) can catch a movie without needing a babysitter (and watching the phone the whole time) or worrying about being turned away.
For many parents of young babies, getting out of the house can be challenging, and sometimes what we need is a moment of normalcy- like a place to watch the latest blockbuster, while also being able to feed, snuggle and relax with baby. Mum’s & Bubs sessions would make Orana more welcoming for local families, who can attend without worrying about upsetting other patrons if baby fusses.
Lower volume, soft lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere would help parents enjoy a movie, while babies can stay close to the people they love most.
This is a small change that could mean a lot. It recognises that babies need care, parents need community, and everyone benefits when public spaces make room for families.
After experiencing these in my previous town with toddlers and babies it is a great opportunity for parents of young ones to get out, especially in summer as an activity in the cool. I have raised this previously a couple of years ago with Orana. I have a toddler now and a new baby and would definatley attend and in summer regualrly.
