We respectfully ask the Ministry of Education to restore the Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Data Science departments at Ethiopian Public Service University, or to provide a fair alternative for the students affected.
Many of us joined Ethiopian Public Service University because these programs were advertised by the university, and we chose our studies with the hope of entering one of those fields. We completed a full year of common courses in good faith, expecting to move into the departments we had been promised through the university’s own admissions and program offerings. Now, after one year, we have been informed that these programs have been removed. This has left many students without the chance to continue in the field they originally selected.
For students, this is not a small change. It affects our education, our plans, and the future we have been working toward. When a university changes the path after students have already invested time and effort, it creates confusion, frustration, and real harm to our trust in the system. Students should not be left carrying the cost of a decision they did not make, especially after following the university’s own guidance from the start.
We are asking for a fair and practical solution. Either restore these programs so students can continue in the departments they came for, or provide an alternative that allows affected students to continue studying their intended field without losing the year they have already completed.
We hope our concerns will be heard and addressed fairly by the Ministry of Education and Other relevant government sectors .

I’m signing just so that our voice about bringing the departments that have been canceled by Ministry of education can be concluded in our department choice and that the cancellation of the departments after we were told that the departments were available isn’t just and fair. Many students wouldn’t want to join the natural science departments that are listed and these critical decisions will have impact on many students future plans.
I want to learn software engineering which has been a dream since elementary school and my families dream when I came from tigray to Ethiopian public service university that was a journey to fulfill the dream to make it come true that was my dream and I've tried to make it happen so I politely ask the minister of education of Ethiopia to consider our questions and give us solutions.
I am in Natural science stream and the reason I joined this university is because it has progress like software engineering, computer science and data science and canceling this programs after I already finished first year put me in a bad situation on what I should pick for the second year
I chose EPSU because of the Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Cyber Security departments. Many of us had high ESLCE scores and could have joined other universities. After almost completing our freshman year, these departments were cancelled. This has affected our future and taken away the opportunity we worked hard for. We respectfully ask the Ministry of Education to reconsider this decision. Please provide a fair solution for the affected students.
I respectfully request the Ministry of Education to reconsider discontinuing Software Engineering, Computer Science, and related programs at Ethiopian Civil Service University. I joined with the hope of studying Software Engineering and building my future in technology. Many students share this goal and chose the university expecting these opportunities. Please reconsider this decision and allow us to pursue the fields we are passionate about.

Last year I saw an advertisement of epsu University departments and when I saw departments like software engineering, computer science, cyber security and data science ,I choosed to study these departments and I came here after I finished one year now I heard they had been cancelled by minister of education and I kindly ask to return thus departments for us .
