We are seeking a delay the erection of a 5G tower planned for Hamlin lane playfields Exeter.
In 2024 Exeter City Council agreed the planning permission for a 5G monopole situated at Hamlin lane playing fields Exeter. The Council consulted 38 local residents, 8 objected. The community at large were unaware. We request the 5G tower be delayed until the community have been fully consulted.
As a strong community, we expect Exeter City Council to conduct local public consultations, in cases where residents who live in the area could be affected. We expect residents to be furnished with the information that contributes to shaping our local environment. ECC has failed to adequately engage with local area residents on the consultation of a 5G monopole. We request a pause in the erection of the monopole whilst a meaningful local consultation takes place. Our Community, Our Choice.
A consultation of 38 people is not really a full consultation. So many people use these playing fields and not enough is known about the health risks of such masts being put in place. A full consultation with the local residents and users of these fields must be done.
