Generative AI has been a major
topic in schools across the world, but we want to start to make a change at Westwood Collegite by banning it as a whole. Teachers and students a like should not be allowed to use it as the effects on the environment, the brain, and the job market are severe.
The petition you sign will help schools monitor the use of generative AI harder, including asks of stronger AI checks on assignments, blocks on generative AI sites, etc. We belive that this petition matters because the planet and its people are running out of resources. We invite you to think about our planet, and what benefit Generative AI gives to it.

Westwood is an art/sport school which both are an art itself. Someone whose been on the yearbook committee for the last two years of my highschool life; Westwood allowing generative AI will always be a massive bitchslap in the face and tells artists and sport players that they are replaceable, and their efforts are worth nothing.
It destroys environment and it can make students lazy and less creative. Students need to learn how to write, solve problems, and find information on their own. Teachers also need to know what students can really do. You also need to grow bond and connection between teachers and students otherwise you won’t know who everyone really is. Please support this!
this is an art school, stop taking away opportunities from real artists. it's disgusting and ruining our planet.

AI IS BOGUS GET IT OUT OF HERE
There are many teachers that encourage ai usage at this school.. Westwood is an ART school. Promoting the use of ai at this school kills the imagination and talent that comes from many students attending. The usage of ai is also contributing to the illiteracy crisis, what happened to knowing the difference between They’re, there and their? Stop pushing for the advancement of ai in schools, ESPECIALLY an art school where students are supposed to be expressing themselves through their creativity.

As a parent, I am strongly against using AI, especially in school. It takes away from the creativity and learning aspect that should be taught hands on. All kids need to learn how to express themselves and thier abilities. Weather you are an athlete, artist, actress/actor or photographer or whatever talent a person may have. AI takes self expression, creativity and individual thought process away from the individual. Do we need teachers if we have AI? Not to mention the environmental impacts.
