Every student deserves a campus that is affordable, safe, transparent, and student-centric.
Over the past few years, students have experienced repeated fee hikes, while concerns regarding hostel security, hostel facilities, canteen hygiene, and food quality continue to remain unresolved. This year, an additional ₹5,000 was collected in the name of hostel security, yet no significant improvements are visible.
Through this petition, ABVP COEP urges the university
- Provide a transparent explanation for the continuous fee hikes over the past four years.
- Review and rationalize the current fee structure to reduce the financial burden on students.
- Clearly explain how the additional ₹5,000 hostel security fee is being utilized.
- Immediately implement effective hostel security measures and improve hostel facilities.
- Improve the quality, hygiene, cleanliness, and regular inspection of food served in the university canteen.
- Establish a transparent grievance redressal mechanism for hostel and canteen-related issues.
- Hold a monthly meeting between the university administration and the Students' Union/recognized student representatives to discuss student concerns, review pending issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Engage with student representatives before introducing any future fee increases or major policy decisions affecting students.
