We, the students of Rayburn College, respectfully wish to bring your attention to the recent increase in college fees.
During our previous academic year, the admission fee [For BSC course] was ₹10,000 and the monthly fee was ₹1,500. However, this Year the fee structure has suddenly been revised to ₹12,000 as the admission fee and ₹1,800 as the monthly fee.
We understand that institutions may need to revise fees due to various reasons, and we respect the efforts made by the college to provide quality education. However, such a sudden increase has created concern among many students, especially those from families who already face financial difficulties.
Many families work hard to manage their daily expenses, and for some students, paying the existing fees itself requires significant effort and sacrifice. An unexpected increase in fees adds additional pressure and may create difficulties in continuing education smoothly.
Considering the challenges faced by many families over the past few years, including economic difficulties and instability in our state, students are requesting the college authorities to kindly reconsider this fee revision. We believe that maintaining a reasonable and predictable fee structure for existing students would help many students continue their studies without additional financial stress.
Through this petition, we humbly request the college administration to review the increased fees and consider reducing the hike or allowing the previous fee structure to continue for current students.
We believe that education should remain accessible and that a student-friendly decision will benefit both the institution and its students.
We sincerely hope that our concerns will be heard and a fair solution will be considered.

Regarding the petition, I met the AD today to submit our request letter. She advised us to collect the physical signatures of as many students as possible to strengthen our request. So, I request everyone to write your name, department, semester and rollno on a piece of paper, click a clear photograph of it, and send it in this WhatsApp group as soon as possible. They should provide some other alternatives to the families who have difficulty with the rise in admission and monthly fees, if they cannot revise the hike in fees
It is important to balance Institutional requirements with the ground reality of the financial situation of the students. An arbitrary increase without any official explanation feels like rather "unpleasant" to put it mildly.
We are deeply concerned that the tuition is rising too sharply and too quickly for the student body to absorb and we would appreciate the chance to understand the drivers behind this acceleration and discuss potential solutions or enhanced safety nets for affected students.
It's kinda unreasonable that the college is increasing its monthly fees by ₹300 ( from ₹ 1500 -₹1800) just within a year and also the admission fees by ₹2,000 .This is too much for me and my parents. Also considering the present conflict in our state,many displaced students will be seriously affected by the increase in college fees.
The college is being unreasonable and inconsiderate
I think the change is quite sudden and the it's such a massive increase.

I am signing this because i myself find it difficult to even think about paying that amount of money when i already struggled paying the previous one.
