We the students of COEP would like to thank the College Administration of College of Engineering Pune (COEP) for taking the timely decision of conducting the upcoming semester online.
We would like to bring to your notice the fact that due to this pandemic, the families of many of students whose income source is primary are affected the most. Also, majority of the students of our college have faced financial problems due to businesses closing down, reduction of salaries, etc.
Also, since the semester would be conducted online, students will have to bear a quite high amount of charges for getting an uninterrupted internet facility as well as getting various softwares, resources and study material.
Further the facilities such as gymkhana, library, laboratory, internet and boat club are totally campus based.
- In view of the above, it is earnestly requested that the fees for the above-mentioned facilities be waived off by at least 50%.
- Also, a deferred fee payment system should be enabled for those students who are unable to pay the complete fees in a single stroke. Facility should be given for students to pay fees in installments.
- Also, there are students who avail education loan and then pay the fees. Due care should also be taken for them by coordinating with the bank and extending credit facility to them.
- No student should be restricted from receiving quality education, and thus no compulsion should be made on students to pay fees before credit registration.
This would give some relief to parents of our students.

Due to salary reduction and loss of jobs of parents it is not possible for many of us to pay the fees. It is also not fair to pay full college fees as we would not be using any college facilities in the next year. Hence, a humble request to waive off the fees by college.
Please reduce the charges in the fees like gymkhana, internet, library,etc. Which are unnecessary at home. Due to lockdown many of student facing financial problems and we also have to pay thousands for uninterrupted internet connection at home for online study...
Due to COVID -19 Pandemic , financial condition of most of the students going down . I am requesting to academic authority ,please give us some concessions in Fee's and provide facility to payment of fee's in 2 - 3 installment
NRI fees should be reduced. Most of our parents have lost the job and will be returning to back to India soon. It’ll be very difficult to manage such a huge amount. And as college always says that they’re with students. We want college to take our sides in this and consider everyone’s situation.
Yeah, very less college infrastructure is going to be used. For example, we are charged 2000 rs for Internet. We won't even be going in the college, let alone using their internet. They shouldn't charge this from us.
Economical Conditions are really very bad now a days
The current fee structure is totally unnecessary and the reasons given for its justification are not at all rational. In such unprecedented times college authority should be little more considerate and try to find better reasons than upgrading faculty's laptops, headphone and internet bandwidth and giving expenses behind e journals that come at the cost of 7000 per student that most of us haven't even heard of. It is very considerate of you to think it inappropriate to expect faculty to work on 50% fee but sadly our parent's employers don't think the same way. Kindly focus on the difficulties faced by students as well as parents to meet the needs of these changed situations as well.
