Opposition to 18 pump 24 hour Racetrac gas station and convenience store

I, _______________ the petitioner, am in opposition to the 18 pump Racetrac gas station/convenience store proposed to be located on the northeast corner of Powers Ferry Road and Windy Ridge Extension intersection. The stipulation change from restaurant to gas station is not appropriate for the Wildwood community for several reasons:
1) I am concerned that a 18 pump gas station does not: (a) reflect the character of the Wildwood community, and (b) the proposed site plan does not reflect what is described in the Powers Ferry Corridor Master Plan, which covers in detail the look and feel a development would need to reflect in order to be a long-term community partner. Our community members invested many hours in study resulting in a development plan that gives developers an exact view of what we want within our community. The proposal simple does not fit the character envisioned for this corridor.
2) As a community member, I believe traffic
flow will be unsafe as there is not a sufficient distance from the
intersection for safe entry and egress.
3) The proposed 24/7/365 operating hours of the facility would negatively
impact the ongoing ambiance of the existing community – it is simply not desired
within our Wildwood community.
4) The existing location is zoned with
stipulations for a restaurant on the parcel – our community does not want to
see this changed.
The proposed facility negatively impacts the character of the surrounding
Wildwood neighborhood in a very significant manner and I the petitioner
recommend you and the planning board support the community envisioned as
described in the Powers Ferry Study Committee for the Wildwood area. Please
deny Z-36 ZONING APPLICATION.
