The commissioners voted against the proposal and it is finally over. I honestly never imagined we would reach this point but your dedication proved me wrong. Please keep looking out for our river since you are the real reason we protected it.

The residents of Wildwood, the Powers Ferry area, the Cumberland Improvement District and Cobb County, GA come together to oppose the redevelopment of Z-47 2018, or Restaurant Row because it is not good for Cobb County, the Community or the Chattahoochee River.
The development known as Z-47 2018 or Restaurant Row lies between Powers Ferry and Windy Ridge Parkway where it adjoins the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area and will drain into the Chattahoochee via Rotten Wood Creek. Today the land houses four restaurants of which three are abandoned. The applicant is proposing to scrape the existing lots of all existing mature trees and vegetation, grade it and add a development of 471 new apartment units adding to the existing glut of apartments already unleased and planned for the area.
Efforts to address community concerns with the applicant have failed and we think it appropriate that the community unite with one voice to tell the applicant and the Cobb County Board of Commissioners that development that destroys our natural environment doesn't belong in Cobb County!!!
If you cannot attend the 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21st meeting at the Cobb County Board of Commissioners meeting where a hearing will be held to determine the future of this project and our environment will be determined, we ask for you to sign our petition to show your solidarity with all concerned citizens.

I own a townhome in Wildwood. I do not want to see any more apartments added to the Wildwood area. There will be too much added traffic. If we must add residences, make them owner occupied and beautifully landscaped.
It was bad enough with Z-12 being manipulated to allow a 50 acre development to put squeezed onto 23.9 acres, and now another over-reaching plan! This is in addition to the DOT verifying existing traffic is rated "F". Where is common sense, ethics, Truth, intelligence and honesty?
I am SO disheartened by this proposal. Haven't the money hungry developers already ruined our county enough? First, SunTrust Park was shoved down our throats. Just what we need...more concrete instead of trees. It hurts me to see so many beautiful green areas destroyed to make way for more apartments. Please do not do this!
The thing I like most about living at Horizon is the lush vegetation that surrounds my home; it brings me peace and happiness. I oppose this plan.
Is this really the Highest and Best Use of this property? No! We are over-supplied with multi-family units. Why does the Powers Ferry Master Plan even exist if it is not being implemented?
This project doesn’t belong on this side. It will destroy many aspects of Wildwood that make it a unique work environment...it’s surrounded by tres. This project calls for the leveling of the land, and therefore the destruction of the vegetation. Further and more importantly it also poses a major threat to the Chattahoochee river. Moreover, the amount of traffic in the area is already beyond what any of us want to deal with. This project will add thousands of more vehicles clogging the roadways. We do not want it here. We didn’t want the stadium either. Will you ignore us on this too. Maybe you’ll even artificially double our property value again to pay for it, much like you did with the stadium.
No! Do not remove vegetation and build more apartments!

There is a glut of apartments in this area. Many are unleased, being completed or planned. Adding this many units will make a busy intersection at Powers Ferry/Parkwood Circle a nightmare. Permanent housing options are needed moreso over rental units.
