Andrew Barr and his government are going to introduce new compensation laws for car accidents. The cost of your third party insurance premiums go down by about the cost of a cappuccino. We’re told that his government will increase the cost of car registration.
CTP goes down, registration goes up. If you can convince your CTP insurer that you or your kids are injured (good luck with that), you will get two years of medical and two years wage loss. After that, 93% of people (if still injured) get nothing from insurance. That means, in practice, citizens won’t be able to pay their mortgage and will lose the family home.
Kids who, for example, break two arms and two legs in a motor vehicle accident, after healing, will get nothing aside from initial medical expenses. Do you think it’s fair for your child to break their limbs by no fault of their own and get nothing? Absolutely not fair. It sucks.
Ask Mr. Barr’s government not to make changes that won’t save you a single cent. It’s not fair. Please sign this petition and tell him that - this issue concerns YOU.

How is a cup of coffee worth losing your house over? This is completely rigged against regular people who just want to be treated fairly if something goes wrong on the road. Barr needs to quit while he is ahead.
Do not make any changes that will make things more difficult to deal with after a car accident, especially when there is trauma and injury involved.
Medical expenses are just the tip of the iceberg. It is amazing the personal toll inflicted by injuries from a car accident. Two years even for a minor accident will not cover the mental and physical harm - all for the price of coffee
with all the known badgering involved in this. especially where I feel the government has not looked at the effect this will have overall, it feels like insurers are just protecting themselves, and the government has not thought through the total impact
It’s inhumane to drive innocent, injured people into poverty with recourse to recover their health and dignity. These changes do not benefit the community which employs politicians who are making these changes. These politicians are failing in the jobs that they are employed to do.

absolute rubbish. two years is nothing when you have permanent damage. politicians need to get a grip on reality.
