I have been reading the heartbreaking accounts shared here and they confirm exactly why this fight is so necessary. My focus remains on holding our leaders accountable for these cuts that silence people who have already suffered enough. I am working behind the scenes to push these stories directly into the hands of those responsible for this policy.

Seeing this progress helps me believe that we can actually force a real conversation about these cruel cuts. My own experience with the system was isolating and painful but reading these responses reminds me that no victim has to carry this weight alone.

I was molested at 13 yrs by four men and infected with hiv it took 20 odd years for an investigation to happen. So with the current compensation law's i don't think i would be paid anywhere near enough compensation. . Please reconsider the amounts that rape vicims get. Because my life has NOT been a walk in the park. ... This being my 25th year of being hiv+ .. Please change them back. .... My compo is being decided right now. .... so quickly! !!!!!!!!!!
Total disgrace. They are putting money before real people who have actually suffered. Do the right thing for once!!!
its disgusting how they treat us. i had to fight for years to get anyone to listen just for them to change everything now. my health is ruined and this is a slap in the face.
The legal fees cut means no lawyer will help us now. How are we supposed to get justice without legal aid?? Its basically impossible now.
Justice shouldnt have a price tag on it. My sister went through hell and now she gets nothing?? Fix this now.
