There are many reasons to petition against auto insurance providers in Ontario.
Your coverage has decreased, yet your rates have gone up.In manycases, coverage has dropped 50%Ok, time to fight!
Insurance companies will do whatever they can to reel in more profits. Essentially, they seek to increase your rates for any reason, while we hope to decrease our rates. If your license is suspended for parking tickets, you can look forward to a 30% increase in your premium, which will be set for 3 years.
Who sets the pricing? I was horrified to find out that by moving to a new location my Ontario auto insurance premium was going to jump from $253/month to $600/month. Does that sound fair? NO! I am the same driver, yet because more people issue claims from my new area, I have to suffer? Geo-targeted premiums are not fair.
The time has come to let them know that we own them. We make them, and we will not stand for their unethical ways any longer. On December 31st 2012, make your statement known. We will grow this group over the next year, planning our reform demands. Once December 31st, 2012 arrives, we will tell the insurance companies to abide by OUR RULES or they will simply lose our policies.
This petition is set for Ontarians to have a voice when it comes to auto insurance coverage.By signing this petition you are joining a group that will work together, perhaps even telling the insurance companies the amount we are willing to pay. If they don't like it, then they will lose all of our policies. We could grow this to 1 million people strong. Then what would they do?
THE AGENDA FOR THIS PETITION IS TO GATHER LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE SO THAT OUR DEMAND FOR INSURANCE POLICY REFORM IS MET. WE WANT AUTO INSURANCE COMPANY TRANSPARENCY AND PREMIUMS THAT TRULY REFLECT WHO WE ARE AS DRIVERS.
IF WE GROW THIS TO 1MILLION + SIGNATURES, I ASSURE YOU THAT WE WILL BE HEARD, AND THE DEMANDS WE MAKE WILL BE MET. WITH THAT MANY SIGNATURES WE COULD TELL 'THEM' TO "STUFF IT" AND SIMPLY STOP OUR PAYMENTS...LETS SEE WHO COMES CRAWLING TO US THEN.

I have finished drafting the formal demand letter regarding regional premium hikes and am currently scouting contacts at the provincial regulatory board. We are preparing to submit these requests for a formal review to ensure our grievances are formally recorded in their system.

It is unfair to charge high car insurance rates to Brampton residents. Drivers with good driving records should not be penalized because they in Brampton.
just cancelled my auto insurance policy, AON increased premium and added extras (Minor Conviction Protection) without my knowledge. Sick of their protection!!! Reason given for the premium increase "Rates just went up". Rates don't go up, someone has to give order to increase the rate. Thank you for starting this petition, my next step is to talk to my MP.
As a victim to an accident. My insurance company has not helped me at all, yet has given me more of a headache. I was compensated little and now spend over 10 k on buying another car. As a victim why is it my responsibility and fault to get a new car. Should my insurance I pay for deal with it. Once a politican gets his car hit and deals with the same garbage I went through perhaps maby they will change.
The insurance rates are to big for normal people who cant afford such payments!!! My Brother jsut started he is 24 and has to pay 350 $ monthly in Ontario such big scame !!!!
Moving from BC to Ontario caused a 2000 dollar increase in my yearly insurance costs. Nationalise the car insurance industry.
Son disabled, lives alone has no license
I have 10 year experience driving car and trucks with zero accidents and claims and I am paying 580

These prices are outrageous and unreasonable. I can't afford to pay my car insurance and my mortgage and my car payments. It's not like I live in Toronto where I can take public transportation instead. I live in Northern Ontario where driving is the only option and to exploit hard working people who've had some bad luck is just despicable!
