Young Smokers is a campaign set up by 3 students, for their Citizenship controlled assessment.
Our end goal is for the government to see our campaign and for them to raise the legal age for purchasing tobacco from 18 to 21.
We know that more and more people are smoking at a young age, giving them a higher chance of dying because of their addiction.
Therefore, we believe the legal age for buying tobacco has to be raised to protect teenagers across the U.K. This will decrease the number of young smokers, giving teens the chance of a longer life.

I have been reading through the stories you are leaving in the comments and the pain caused by these addictions is clear. We started this project for our school assignment but it feels much more important now that I see how many people want this change for the next generation.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels unreal because I know exactly how much damage these products caused to my own family. Watching so many people join this fight gives me hope that we can finally protect the next generation from the same cycle of addiction.

Honestly should be 21 already. Kids arent mature enough at 18 to make choices that ruin their lungs for life
Totally agree. way to many young people smoking outside the gates its honestly gross
YES!! my son started at 16, huge mistake. keep it out of schools
Too many kids at my school are vaping and smoking every single day. Something has to change.
Good luck with this. About time we made it harder for them to get hold of this stuff
