Youth alcoholism is a prominent health issue in NZ’s society, having numerous consequences on both the brain development of adolescents and the wider community. In New Zealand, the average age for an individual to begin drinking is 13.6 years old; this is far too young! By increasing the purchasing age of alcohol from 18 to 21, teenagers are less likely to have access to this widespread drug. Individuals aged 18 may still attend school and associate with younger peers; raising the purchasing age decreases the likelihood of alcohol being distributed to youth. Absolutely agree with this. It may not eliminate the issue but will surely reduce the problem
I agree with you!!! I believe that drinking should be raised to a higher age to 21. not that it's going to stop kids from getting other to buy them alcohol, but it prevents others or the majority from buying them. fully on Board! :)
Fully support this intiative. It is appalling how alcohol intake is applauded and encouraged in our young people
I agree that raising the drinking age to 21 will protect our youth and reduce alcohol-related harm
