The City Council formally approved the one year trial for the ECDC dog park. We will monitor the implementation phase to ensure the terms of the pilot remain consistent with our proposal.

The City Council is proposing creating an off-leash dog park at the field at the ECDC for a trial period.

Coronado School district has leased the space to the City for their use.

Please sign this petition if you DO SUPPORT a dog park at this location.

Names will be presented at the City Council meeting on Tuesday.

Well exercised, well socialized dogs are better behaved and cause far fewer neighbor-neighbor fights and complaints to the Police Department than do well exercised, well socialized dogs. There are twenty one parks in Coronado, nine of which provide playground equipment for human children. Surely one park can be provided for the more than 2000 canine children living in Coronado!

We have waited years for a dog park. This is a great option! Fenced, near town, and "green!" think about how many cars will stay off the Strand, or even our streets, with an in-town park that eliminates a drive to the Cays. Please approve!

My family has a dog and we worry about bringing him to dog beach due to him running away since there is no fence. Bringing a fenced dog park onto the island would be great for so many reasons!

If this is not a feasible location for the dog park, identifying another would be great. Coronado is supposed to be a dog friendly town. The beach is sometimes hazardous due to the Tijuana constant spillage. If the school district offers this plot of land then why not utilize it?

I am a permanent, year-round resident of Coronado, and I strongly support this trial of a dog park. So many residents here do not have yards.

Having had dogs (10, as I raised 9 pups for Canine Companions for Independence, and now have a dog rescued from PAWS) I strongly favor an off leash in the city! Socialization is MOST important for welltrained dogs, and this would provide a wonderful venue.

That should have read, "than do unexercised and unsocialized dogs"
