After the recent revelation from X1 Lettings that there will be ongoing construction of a Block C on X1 the Campus, we are seeking to create a petition and letter from the residents in hopes of seeking a rent reduction and compensation for the inconveniences it has already caused and will continue to cause. Many of the tenants that have spoken on the Facebook Group have expressed how they were not told anything about the construction of a Block C and we believe this entitles us to reclaim some of our rent money (and reduce future rent payments) as the expectations of this ‘premium’ accommodation have not been met. If you would be interested in being a part of this petition please feel free to leave your information below.

Updates

October 30, 2018

The feedback from residents across the complex has confirmed that the lack of transparency regarding the construction is a shared frustration. I am currently compiling these experiences into a formal document to present to the management team. Your persistence in documenting these disturbances is vital to the strength of our collective position.

October 30, 2018

The momentum behind this petition confirms that residents feel their concerns regarding the ongoing construction have been overlooked. This collective response provides the necessary leverage to approach management with our request for fair compensation.

Very unprofessional; less than poor customer service; no follow up; inflexibility (but expect the oppossite from tenants); building have not met claimed specs (construction site, no study area, no cinema room, a super mini "gym" that no one would ever call a gym, no recycling- Bcz we dont pay council tax! It was certainly known that the building is designed for students who are exempted-why no arrangements-disgusting garbage disposal area). Very disapponting!

Glad this has been set up - absolutely ridiculous the amount we’re paying to live on a construction site until at least May

Not just block C, but a failure of several other expectations - from a cinema room that never materialised (which they have since said would have to be limited hours as they don’t trust their adult tenants to act as adults), a non existent roof garden, nowhere near enough washing machine facilities for the number of tenants, other facilities not working both in flat and in general areas, and a complete lack of ‘Luxury living’ anywhere. It’s basically halls.

Not to mention the promised cinema room which is either not been provide or not yet available 3 months into the open. Very disappointed & your paint quality is absolutely rubbish the walls mark so easily

Too many issues that were apparent even before day one with all the building delays that had gone on. X1 seems more concerned about popping up new buildings left, right and centre than they do about the concerns of their tenants.
