With the fence coming down at the Wynyard pool between the paddling pool and full sized pool, We propose Is to replace the fence with a 4 foot tall fence with a bench on the paddling pool side. The original idea was just a bench, however with the fence there could then be a gate as well.
We have safety concerns with just a bench once the old fence is taken out.
1.The deep end is too close, possibility of a young child falling or being bumped into the water
2.Diving board and ladders are too close and at reach for young children
3.Older kids colliding with the younger children on deck
4. Older kids sneaking into the paddling pool
5.Younger children wanting to go in the big pool but not capable of doing so when there is more than one child per adult

Removing and not replacing the fence between the two pools will increase the safety pressure of the lifeguards as well. Remember that although they are qualified to work as lifeguards, these are teenagers who live within the community. How will the Town of Wynyard help cope if something horrible unfolded after the fence is gone?
The goal is that they replace the old with a new along with their proposed bench.
Its for aesthetic reasons. The hope is that a new fence will be put up as well as a bench.
If the plan is to truly remove all barriers (fence) between the padding pool and the big pool this is a huge safety concern.i would like to know the rationale behind this?
One thing I like about the fence (besides it's safety) is the fact that it's a visual cue for toddlers/ infant to know that they are not big enough to go into the pool. I can almost guarantee that if the fence is taken down my one year old will be much more interested in running over to the big pool than actually swimming

What is the reasoning for fence removal? Safety first! Toddlers move quicker than adults react in most cases, and I would hate to have an "accident" that the fence could have prevented.
