MICHAEL BURKE, WHOSE FIREFIGHTER BROTHER WAS KILLED ON SEPT 11, STARTED A PETITION TO GET THEFRITZ KOENINGSPHERE BACK TO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER.

On Behalf Of The Families Of 9/11, And Those Thousands Of Iron Workers And Port Authority Personnel That Made The World Trade Center Possible, I Started This Petition. The Sphere *Sculpture By Fritz Koenig*That Sat In The Middle Of The Austin Tobin Plaza At The Original World Trade CenterIs The Last Actual Artifact That Is Intact, That Survived The Attacks Of September 11, 2001. It Was In The Center Of The Austin Tobin Plaza Which Was Dedicated To Austin Tobin, Who Fought Through So Much To Get The World Trade Center Built. He Deserves To Be Re-Recognized For His Hard Work And Dedication To The Project, Just As Guy Tozzoli, Minoru Yamasaki, Les E. Robertson and countless others should be. The Port Authority And City Of New York Want To Move It From Battery Park Permanently, But Have No Place For It In The City, They are "Thinking" of placing it in 'Liberty Park', but plans are NOT FINALIZED and 'Liberty Park' isNOT part of the Memorial Site itself. Officials From The 9/11 Memorial Have Stated That They Do Not Want Any 9/11 Artifacts "Cluttering" the 8-Acre Memorial Plaza, In Other Words, The "Sphere", How Dare They Have Such A Nasty Attitude Towards The ONLY Artifact To Survive Intact!They Should Be Delighted To Return It To It's Proper Place And Re-Dedicate It To Austin Tobin And In Remembrance Of Those Who Made The Original World Trade Center Come To Life By Having The Sphere That Center Pieced The Plaza Named After Him, Put Back In It's Place on the Memorial Site, On The North Side Of The Memorial Building, just as it sat on the Plaza. Please Help Us Make This Happen. It Was A Victim That Survived 9/11 And Should Be Recognized As Such.
