The council confirmed today that they will install new play equipment at Windlehurst Park. This outcome reflects the commitment of everyone who insisted that our green space deserves proper investment. I look forward to seeing the new structures in place and hope we continue to monitor the upkeep of the …

I used to play on this park when I was little and only took my kids there a few months ago. Open spaces for children to play should be one of the top priorities of local authorities. Especially as the government advise is to make sure our children get exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. I am so upset by this it just cannot happen!

This is a beautiful little park and I strongly believe it should be renovated and maintained for the community, not left derelict. Councillors, it is a dereliction of your duty to the community you represent to allow this to happen.

Please save the park. There is nothing in high lane for children, so removal of this sweet little park means something else the children have to go with out. High lane is always last on the council list

The park was donated by a relative for the recreation of the children of Windlehurst. The swings have been there over fifty years to my knowledge without any major accidents or health and safety issues! What a shame that they have been removed leaving very little for the next generation of children to play on!

I think it is disgusting that the council do not regard an outdoor children's play area a matter of priority and importance.
