C.U.S.D. 304 is proposing to have families with kindergarteners bussed to schools outside their current elementary school boundaries.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the School Board to act now to add a kindergarten class section to Williamsburg for the 2012-2013 academic year to keep children in their assigned boundaries.
The feedback from local families regarding the proposed bussing changes has been both insightful and deeply personal. Having these perspectives documented in one place allows us to present a clearer argument when we eventually speak with the board members about keeping our children within their neighborhood schools.
July 5, 2012
Reaching this level of support confirms that our neighborhood values keeping our youngest students within their local school community. The momentum behind our request shows that parents and neighbors are aligned on the importance of this stability for our children.

So frustrating. we chose our house specifically for this school district. not fair to change the rules now.

This is going to be so hard for working parents. how are we supposed to get to two different schools for drop offs and pick ups?

My son is already nervous about starting school. sending him across town on a bus is just crazy when we live 5 minutes away.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. keep our kids in their own neighborhood schools where they belong.
