The changes being proposed will affect the amount of property taxes that you pay and give MFL landowners more privileges that are not fair to everyone. This program allows landowners to pay a small set amount of taxes per acre, while the landowners not in the program will make up the difference because the value of the land in the MFL program is not on the tax roll. We want to stop these 3 bills and also have more public hearings around the state because this affects millions of landowners.

I have been digging through the budget language all morning and honestly the implications for our local tax bases are even messier than I first thought. It feels like we are shouting into the void sometimes but keep looking at the comments because people are really scared about what this means for their property bills next year.

I really thought this might just disappear into the void but watching people actually engage with these tax issues is honestly a bit overwhelming. My phone keeps buzzing with notifications and it is starting to feel like people are finally realizing how much these specific bills are going to mess with our local tax burdens if they go through.

Reconsider these bills, it will hurt property owners in townships as well as the local government.
Please have more meetings on this program because it is having an adverse affect on many people. Let the voices of the voters be heard. These are major changes that are being proposed and will affect many communities especially small ones. Thank you
Any body that can afford the price of land can also afford to pay the taxes on the land that equals the amount you paid for it.
This is so unfair to regular tax payers who will pay more. If you own multiple parcels of land - you can afford to pay the taxes!!!
This is just the opposite direction we should go with this program. It should be down sized, not enlarged.
Please remove this program. It is killing the property and home owners.

This MFL program already unfairly subsidizes the Lumber industry and wealthy recreational land owners - at the expense of struggling rural counties. This Tax GIFT has robbed rural counties of billions in tax revenue over the years. Shame on those who support expanded tax thievery!! The scam needs to be fixed not expanded.!!
