I started this because I felt frustrated but I never imagined so many people would feel the same way. It is honestly overwhelming to see how many of you took the time to add your names to this cause. I am currently reaching out to school board members to see if they will listen to our concerns.

The dress code is ridiculous and out dated. Students are supposed to come to school to learn and they can’t do that whenever they’re being forced to go to ISS for the day and can’t even get out when a change of clothes that is appropriate. It is easier to learn in comfort. If giving the opportunity, a more relaxed dress code would leave students more comfortable and ready to learn
Clothes are an expression of students and by taking away their choice of clothing, you are taking away part of their creativity. We understand that Harrison County doesn’t want their students to show too much skin but many of the dress code rules are unreasonable.
I believe that most of the rules are fine; but I do believe that hair color, fingertip leangth shirts and atletic shorts/ pants rules should be reevaluated. If you look at the cheer team dress code it contradicts basic handbook dress code.
I don’t see why my shoulders are such a big distraction to the classroom. Boys will stare at you regardless of how much you cover up.
Why can’t boys wear shorts? There’s literally no reason why we cant. Pants are uncomfortable, and make it where I can’t do class work cause I’m too uncomfortable
West Harrison constantly gives female students problems with their attire, most situations are incredibly ridiculous and don’t call for forcing a student in iss or to go home. Resulting in them forcibly missing their education.
Athletic shorts, hats, sweat pants, leggings, etc. should be allowed. It’s just ridiculous.

The dress code is completely unfair to girls. I see boys sagging everyday and wearing ripped jeans everyday, and nothing is said to them. When a female wears ripped jeans or leggings with shirts that cover their posterior but does not go to their knees, they’re sent to ISS which i think is extremely biased towards females.
