Peter Linneman, an emeritus professor at the Wharton School and a principal at real estate consulting firm Linneman Associates, publicly made racist comments TWICE at a real estate discussion panel on September 28th, 2016.

While talking about China's One-child policy, Linneman shared his belief that "nothing happened" after the law changed, and implied that perhaps nobody wants to have sex with Chinese men. "Look at Chinese men, that may be your explanation."

Linneman is ignorant, insensitive, and unprofessional. He is unfit to be an educator.

I am especially hurt and disappointed that an educated and esteemed professor of my alma mater holds a worldview that led him to crudely demeans an entire demographic for laughs. The Penn community must make it clear this is against what our school believe in and accept in the world.

This guy has racial bias against Chinese men. That means that as an educator, he has the power to act upon those racial biases to disadvantage any student who may be of Chinese or East Asian descent. I don't think that's a good thing to have if one is an educator. Out with this guy.

I was at this event. One of maybe 5-10 Asians that were there. Which is indicative of the industry as a whole. I remember when this guy said the comments, people turned to look at me to see how I would react.

As a Chinese man and a Wharton alumnus, I'm deeply disappointed by Prof. Linneman's blatant disregard of the rock solid empirical evidence. Clearly, 5000 years of history and a population of 1.4 billion strong show that Chinese men (and women) are and have been doing just fine!

As an alum of the Wharton School I believe Linnerman should be fired immediately. If the school does not fire him Asian alumni and donors should consider that Wharton condones such raciat behavior.

I'm married to a Chinese man. The racist comment hurts and I'm astonished to hear it from a professor at Wharton, a business school that's starting to build a presence in China and hoping to receive a generous donation from Chinese men, the very victims of the comments made by one of its leading professors.

I married a Chinese man for 30 years and have two sons who are much better lovely, compassionate, and beautiful humans than this ignorant so-called professor.
