As a Windmill Harbour property owner, I am increasingly concerned for my personal safety and the safety of my family, neighbors, friends, visitors and employees while both entering and/or leaving Windmill Harbour. Further, as South Carolina residents, we the undersigned, are entitled to safe passage onto and off South Carolina highways. The unsafe condition that exists on US278 at Windmill Harbour we believe will worsen with the completion of the Bluffton Flyover. We strongly urge SCDOT, Beaufort County and the Town of Hilton Head to implement a plan to alleviate this pressing safety matter by the time that the flyover is completed.

I honestly never thought we would see this kind of momentum when I started this at my kitchen table while staring at the traffic backups. It is surreal to see how many people feel the exact same way I do about the dangers on US278 because it shows we actually have a real chance now.

the speed people drive on this stretch is just reckless and it needs to be addressed immediately
getting out of the gate is a nightmare. feels like a gamble with my life everyday
WAY TOO MUCH TRAFFIC NOW. SC DOT NEEDS TO WAKE UP.
been living here 10 years and its never been this bad. really hope they actually do something
it is genuinely terrifying trying to pull out onto 278 during tourist season. fix it before someone gets killed
