--I oppose Text Amendment 562 which would amend the Westport, CT zoning regulations to allow high-density residential development in Westport\'s single family neighborhood. --I also oppose the applications filed by Redcoat Development that would make the Gorham Avenue neighborhood the first of Westport\'s residential neighborhoods to be re-zoned and developed under the new zone created by Text Amendment 562 with the construction of a high-density condominium development on 1.5 acres. --While I oppose this attempt to impose inappropriate and ultra-dense housing on Westport\'s single-family neighborhoods, I also call upon Westport town officials to develop and implement a plan that will provide affordable housing in Westport that is appropriate for the town to its municipal employees and other workers. Note to Signers: Once you click to submit your signature you will be taken to a page asking for contributions for the people that host this petition, iPetitions. They are not asking for a donation to Gorham Neighbors or any organization related with Westport or 562. I am in the process of fixing this. I have been spending my time meeting with town officials to highlight the irreparable damage this density will inflict on our neighborhood character. The silence coming from the planning board is frustrating but we are not backing down until our homes are protected from these reckless development plans.

Seeing this level of support for our neighborhood really hit home today. It proves that so many of you value the character of our town just as much as my family does. This momentum is exactly what we need to show officials that we will not back down.

Westport is a town of homes not giant condos. Keep our character please.

This density is insane for that area. traffic is already backed up enough on gorham as it is.
