This petition is to the theater faculty and Dean, that they will present a proposal for a theater major at Westminster College. Cid Seidelman, Provost and VP for Academic Services of Westminster College explained that two things are taken into account when adding a new major to Westminster. Does it help to fulfill the mission of the college, and is it marketable A theater major at Westminster would undoubtedly fulfill those requirements. Seidelman also explained that it has been 8 years since there has been a proposal from the faculty or Dean for a theater major. In these 8 years, we have hired new faculty for the theater department and built Jewett Center for the Performing Arts, so the circumstances now are very different.
