The foot patrol officers are finally returning to our streets. It was a long road to get here and I am drained but relieved that our persistence paid off. We will keep watching to ensure this commitment stays firm in the months ahead.

Final supporters
Public safety is of the highest priority for our West Loop community. An active police presence on Madison Row, Fulton Market District and Greektown, not only deters crime but provides the ability to quickly respond to help mitigate potentially worse consequences.
A foot detail officer, like Officer Hranicka, Officer Smith, Officer Cantu, and others, allows local West Loop businesses, residents, and patrons to feel safe on the street. Their presence helps de-escalate non-violent encounters and gives small businesses peace of mind as they focus on their business instead of safety concerns.
We hereby request the return of our foot detail officers back to the West Loop.

Reaching five hundred signatures is a heavy milestone that proves I am not the only person exhausted by the current state of our streets. This fight has been draining but seeing your names attached to this demand keeps me moving forward.

miss seeing officer smith around the neighborhood. he actually knew the shop owners and kept things calm.
Bring them back!! I work late at night and honestly dont feel safe walking to my car anymore. We need the foot patrol.
Used to see officers walking around all the time and it made such a difference. Now it just feels like the wild west at night here.
Too many people speeding through fulton market now too. having a cop walk the beat kept everyone in check.
what happened to the foot patrol? it was keeping the area so much better. put them back on the street asap.

The increase in break ins lately is crazy. Need real eyes on the street not just cars driving by once an hour.
