This petition is for additional patrol within our growing community of over 1,000 homes known as Woodcreek North. We know our officers do their best and they can’t be everywhere at once, but the severe lack of a patrol presence within our neighborhood is leading to less than desirable driving behaviors. Stop signs and speed limits are being ignored and close encounters between kids/walkers and vehicles have been increasing as our neighborhood continues to grow. Just having a police presence within the neighborhood is a big deterrent to correct these safety issues. For the safety of all our neighbors, we are requesting patrol dedicated to our community.

Updates

April 27, 2020

I spent the afternoon watching cars blow through the intersection near the playground and it is clear we cannot wait for an accident to happen before this changes. My inbox is full of messages from neighbors who are just as worried as I am about letting their children play outside. We are keeping the pressure on the station because our streets should be a place where we feel safe walking home.

April 27, 2020

Seeing the momentum behind this request is overwhelming because it proves I am not the only one constantly worrying about the safety of our children on these streets. This surge of support shows that our neighbors are ready to be seen and heard by the people who can actually keep our community safe.

Crazy Cross needs speed bumps, more patrolling of the 25mph bc very few abide by it & only thoroughfare to RR12 plus winding & narrow & I’m sure there are other streets also-no one stops at stop sign at Crazy Cross & Valley Spring-I watch it all the time.

Today my 6 year old son almost got ran over by a car going 50 on country place in Wimberley, Texas. I couldn’t believe it. There needs to be more done so our kids don’t get hurt. We can’t wait until someone gets hurt to do anything.

Crazy Cross Road resembles the back straight at Daytona between 0630 and 0800 and again between 1730 and 1830.

This needs to happen before someone gets killed. There have been several near misses already.

Citizens in the neighborhoods of Woodcreek North, Wimberley, are very concerned for the safety of pedestrians, children, other drivers, and even our beloved pets. Speeding cars, drivers ignoring both speed limits and stop signs are putting lives at risk. Please patrol these areas so as to bring some control over these dangers. An accident waiting to happen that hopefully can be avoided.

So many citizens are concerned for this growing problem in the neighborhoods of Woodcreek North, and hoping to avoid a tragic accident occurring that could involve other drivers, pedestrians, children, and/or beloved pets. People's lives are at stake on a daily basis, just trying to enjoy a walk in the neighborhood.
