Dear all,
This petition is set up to gather numbers to put forward to potential fundraisers for getting a new skatepark/plaza built at Westburn Park in Abereen, Scotland.
With all other major cities in Scotland having a hub for skatepark related activities, Aberdeen is in great need of a new skatepark/plaza due to a increasing rise in the number of skateboarders/bikers/bladers etc in the area. This will continue to help the progression of these activites, bringing people, culture and events to the city of Aberdeen.
With the help of a strong community input and public support we strive to get the fundraising to build one of the best outdoor facilities in the United Kingdom. Please sign, share and pass this on to family, friends and those alike to gather the support needed.

we are climbing up to a thousand signatures and it is honestly wild to see this much support for the new park. if everyone sends the link to just a few people we can hit that big milestone by tonight and make sure the city knows we arent playing around.

im currently working on some designs to show potential funders what this park could actually look like for us. its been cool hearing from so many of you about why this space is needed in our city so keep the feedback coming because it helps me build a better case for the project.

This is a must, the city needs to provide something that was non existent when I was growing up and skating was my main hobby. Constantly being moved on by police or security was not enjoyable and gave the skating community a bad name.
Aberdeen is in need of a good free skatepark. While Transition Extreme is an amazing park, it is very expensive. All the concrete parks in Aberdeen were poorly designed and even more poorly executed.
Westburn skatepark definitely needs something more. It's quite embarrassing for Aberdeen not to have a proper outdoor concrete skatepark compared to Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee and Glasgow to name but a few.
Chair of Freinds of Victoria and Westburn parks. This skate park dates way back into the 70s and is far to small for the amount of skate boarders and stunt bike users, overcrowding has ment that the smaller children have a long wait for there chance to get on. A new up to date skate park is well overdue
At the moment the younger ones are totally crowded out by the older skateboarders. It's a very inadequate facility and we need more oortunities for getting the young ones outside, away from computer screens, and into exercise.
Please put a bit more effort into the skatepark it would mean a lot thank you

I have skated westburn park for more than a decade. This location for a larger outdoor skatepark like our other Scottish cities have would make an amazing place for kids and adults alike to enjoy they're sports and congregate, please make this happen!
