The scale of this support has forced the local planning committee to respond to our formal request for a meeting. I am currently finalizing the presentation materials to outline why the old high school grounds represent the most viable site for this facility.

I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with the local planning department to discuss the redevelopment of the old high school site. They have acknowledged receipt of the documentation and I am currently awaiting a confirmation on their availability.

love the idea of the skate park. If also like to propose that the top class basketball centre could be kept too. It's a brilliant facility and would be a great loss as well as a huge waste of money if it was demolished.
I was at the Space in NB last week and the most fun was being had by the dad and son (age 4?) on Skateboard and Scooter at the Skate park. Soft play failed in comparison. Bring on the skate park! Out door unplanned activity sounds good to me
This is much needed for Portobello and beyond. We need to provide more locally accessible spaces for young people to spend time being active outdoors, where they are welcomed and can express themselves.
Brought this up at an Portobello community council years ago and it was disregarded. Very important, young people of this area are in need of a place to skate- pls sign and share!! Invest in things like this and not on trams - am I right lads?!
This would be a great asset to portobello, skateboarding and scootering are fun activities which should be encouraged as they are healthy and kids learn some really great skills. with two kids who love skating and scooting I think portobello really needs a skate park!

This would be a great location for a park, with skater input on the design and a park on the same sort of scale as as the mighty Saughton this could be amazing!

The youth in Portobello desperately needs somewhere to call their own. The council needs to do better with giving young people something to do outdoors, anyone would think they want an inactive youth
