In October 2022, Target 3371 raised its "base pay" (the going rate for new hires) from $16.75 to $17.00/hr.

This increase was not extended to other longtime Team Members.

Wages were only increased for existing team members who were making <$17/hr, effectively excluding most employees who received performance-based raises from their annual review.

For example, Team Members earning $17.05/hr from their April review will receive no pay increase, while new hires earning $16.75/hr received an increase of $0.25/hr. This development is detrimental to team morale and has created a rift between Team Members and upper management.

Equitable treatment should have yielded a $0.25 increase in hourly pay for all employees so senior Team Members can reap the benefits of the rise in "base pay" too. Team Members complete required training regarding personal bias to ensure the equal treatment of guests and staff. However, this equal treatment is not extended to the Team Members who make the store operational.

The prices at this store are consistently higher than surrounding Target, but management does not seem interested in rewarding hardworking employees for their loyalty. The store is incentivizing applicants with a higher "base pay", but provides very little financial incentive for employees to stay long-term.

T3371 Team Members work extremely work hard, volunteering in our community, orienting tourists coming out of LAX, and driving guest loyalty and satisfaction.

They are deserving of fair and equitable wages.
