We, the undersigned, feel the need for weighted grades in advanced and AP classes.

At the end of each trimester a 5% increase will be given to any advanced or AP class grade.  As of right now, Souhegan High School doesn’t use a weighted grade system.

In addition, according to the University of Connecticut unweighted grades put students at a disadvantage for college admissions and/or scholarships.  As well as that most schools now have some form of a weighted grade system.

This weighted grade system would pose no penalty for those not participating in advanced or AP classes.

Its not fair that kids who take AP classes have lower GPAs than people in easy classes. This needs to change now.

Finally someone said it. My gpa is killing me because I actually want to challenge myself, this is just common sense.

COLLEGES ARE LOOKING AT THIS. Stop putting us at a disadvantage compared to other schools.

AP classes are way harder and take way more time. Why should I get the same grade as someone taking regular bio?
