Students at Cannon School who have previously taken Honors Accelerated classes are requesting a .5 GPA boost. This policy has been applied to the incoming freshman class, however, students who have taken these courses in the past do not have this luxury. This petition is made to help assist these students who have taken on the extra challenge in these higher-level classes, and getting recognition for it.

Fix this please. Colleges look at gpa so heavily and we are getting cheated.
it makes no sense to give the credit to only some kids when we all took the exact same difficult curriculum.
HONORS CLASSES ARE HARD. Give us the boost we earned.
Totally unfair to leave out the upperclassmen who already did the hard work
My son worked way too hard in these classes to be ignored now. This needs to be fair for everyone.

I’m a Cannon parent and can’t believe that the marginalization of only some of the students seemed like a good way to phase in this new policy. Why not just begin the program for all new US students to and give retroactive credit for the remaining 3 grades? Just seems like an easy decision and the fact that a different decision was made causes me to be concerned.
