Not long ago, the Mayor of Ithaca named May 8th Grateful Dead day. This also happens to fall on local resident and proud active community member, Robert Russel Shepherd\'s birthday. We want Grateful Dead day removed. The Grateful Dead have over stayed there welcome in the musical world. The name is a bad influence, it may make children and teens want to cut themselves.
