I am honestly stunned to share that the ASD takeover has been officially called off. This outcome belongs entirely to the parents and community members who refused to back down. Let us stay watchful to ensure our school remains protected for the long term.

Final supporters
As advocates of Kirby Middle School and the Shelby County School system, we will not support the ASD takeover. The data clearly shows that our children are currently receiving rigorous, high quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. If ASD takes over, we will seek other educational institutions for our children.

I SUPPORT KIRBY MIDDLE SCHOOL! ASD DOES NOT HAVE THE BEST INTEREST IN OUR KIDS AND I WILL NOT SUPPORT THEM!
I do not believe ASD have a vested interest in our children. Our students need a system that is understanding and nurturing.
I have been in education for many years. I feel that if improvements are being made yearly, that shows that the teachers here at Kirby are doing what they are supposed to do. It shows that we are making a difference in the lives of our students. We are meeting our students where they are and taking them where we want them to go. I feel that the instruction here is rigorous and that our students will continue to do well. I don't feel that ASD can do any better than we are currently doing.
KIRBY MIDDLE ALL THE WAY. MY KIDS ARE DOING GREAT THERE AND I DONT WANT ANY CHANGES!!!!
I am a Kirby Middle School teacher and I believe in the work we are doing everyday. I think our children will be better off if we are allowed to continue the work we are doing rather than starting completely over with new teachers and new administration.
I support Kirby Middle School, not ASD!

Keep our school local. ASD needs to stay out of our neighborhood and let the teachers who actually care keep doing their jobs.
