Ashe Preparatory Academy is a dream that had a difficult start but it doesn't have to be the end. This letter of support is an effort to support Ashe Prep in keeping its charter by allowing more time for communication, planning and vetting at the discretion of Dr. Sullivan with parent support.
Many of us made great sacrifices to join the Ashe Prep community because we understand the value of an African centered education for our children of African descent. A common thread among parents is the understanding that community and high quality education are paramount needs for our families and we look to Ashe to be the connection place. Things went wrong, and our community has a responsibility to learn from that.
We have all moved on to other educational options for our children out of necessity. Some are moving to homeschool solutions, some private schools, some public. We all feel that our children are still in need of connection with the spirit of Ashe.
By signing this letter we show support of Dr. Sullivan and the mission, vision and values of Ashe Preparatory Academy. We request that the board of directors do all that is within their power to retain the charter.

This program is so so needed for kids of color. We all agreed that they just needed more time to implement the brilliant idea that is Ashe. I truly hope that Ashe can still function to whatever capacity when the founders are able to get things lined up and in order. No matter our frustrations of what happened this year, we still fully 100% support this school structure. And more importantly, our kids need it.
Although we had to withdraw our son before the start of the school year due to the location change to Kent, we still believe in and support the original vision of Dr. Sullivan as it pertains to Ashé Prep. We always planned to revisit the option of reenrolling at Ashé once it has been relocated back to the Skyway area. Please keep the Charter! I believe that more time, better communication and leaders will allow fir the Ashé vision to come to fruition. Signed, Kim Hardy
ASHE ACADEMY is the result of a longing for a community school. We were so happy to see it come to fruition. Our family is committed to seeing ASHE as a reality in our community. Education is a vehicle that every community must teach it's family's to drive.

I think to void the charter or risk losing the charter is something that Dr Sullivan nor the parents want nor expected Yes we agree that the process moving forward is going to be difficult but we're willing to stand by her. If the school would have remained opened we still would stand by her. The parents who are in support and love Ashe are willing to wait until there is addressing adequate staffing and a stable facility in place. Ashe just needed a better place and time. We are willing to bet on the principles of Ashe.

I am deeply grateful for the visioning and commitment of Dr. Sullivan in cultivating the idea of Ashe! I am heart broken by the lack of support form our community of educators, advocates and the general community.
