We want President George E. Cooper to stay as President of South Carolina State University

The Students, Alumni and Friends of South Carolina State
University would like Faculty, Staff and The Board of Trustees know that we as
a University do not approve of the decision of letting our President George E.
Cooper step down from the University. Dr. George E. Cooper is doing an amazing
job as president, he is connecting students and alumni, helping reunite our
fellow HBCUs and making many students feel that the University is our home away
from home. His open door policy and his constant support of student activities have
proven that he is for the students and cares about our development to become
productive members of society.
On another note we would like the Governor of South
Carolina to take a closer look at the Board of Trustees. In the last five years
we have lost two presidents, on the verge on losing the second with Dr. Cooper,
but the same board remains the same....
The problem does not seem to be with the President it has
to be something wrong with the Board of Trustees that needs to be looked at
further.
We want President George E. Cooper to remain home where
he belongs, here at South Carolina State University.
