On behalf of a large community of long standing residents (owners and tenants), we would like to address the subject of pets in Oceana during the next AGM.

We have seen the positive impact that pet friendly zones have had in recent times in Palm Jumeirah, as 5 star residences such as “Five”, “The W”, and “Fairmont Residences” have seamlessly blended hotel experiences, residential zones and pet friendly initiatives to make purchase and rental more desirable for families.

Oceana is now an outlier, and we believe that if Oceana were more flexible on the pet policy we may increase the desirability of living and renting in Oceana, which would result in a positive impact on the community, especially in the challenging real-estate market.

In this regard we want to amend the community policy to be pet friendly- with clear restrictions and penalties.

We request access to the walkways at the back of both buildings which lead the grass circles as access points for pets. We are not seeking any access to the interior side of the buildings where the pool, restaurants and children’s facilities are. We as a community would also support stringent fines for those who don’t conform to tolerated behavior.

We are all aligned to make Oceana an attractive, modern and desirable residence and we believe that a modification of these rules would:

1) Increase the value proposition for tenants/owners of Oceana

2) Align us with the competition on the Palm

3) Focus the security onsite on more important tasks than policing the numerous pets that are already on premises
