For those of you in the Oak Creek Estates/Willow Glen and surrounding subdivisions of Genoa, please sign this petition to let the city know we deserve a tornado siren closer to our homes, one that we can actually HEAR in the event of a tornado! The single siren in town is not enough, it is too far and not loud enough for us to rely on. Our families' lives are at stake with this unpredictable weather!

Updates

July 22, 2017

I have been reading every single comment about where you all live and it confirms my worst fear that our neighborhood is completely unprotected during storms. I am taking this list of locations to the next city council session to force them to look at exactly how far the sound travels from the existing siren.

July 22, 2017

Seeing this gain traction reminds me how many neighbors are lying awake during every storm just like I am. Knowing I am not the only one terrified for my kids makes this fight feel possible.

There is more open field on this side of town, inhibited by more residents than most part of town! Willow Glen, RiverBend and ALL of Oak Creek make up a pretty good majority of this town! Isn't it's the city's responsibility to make sure its residents are safe? Code Red is a great plan, but not nearly publicly noted as it should be! Maybe postcards or a letter regarding Code Red only and Not put in with other community news?!!!! Messages should be texted, called, email, etc...

N. Oak Creek Dr. We can't hear the sirens when inside our house! Definitely need another siren located back by the Oak Creek subdivision!

A simple household fan was enough to mask the tornado siren going off. Its not loud enough to hear.
