By signing this petition, you are asserting your opinion that it would be beneficial for service member families to have a swim club that meets at the Charles King Fitness Center on Navy Base Guam. This club would be open to any one that already has access to Charles King Fitness Center. If you live on Guam, have access to Charles King, & have family members that might like to participate in this swim club on Big Navy, feel free to leave a comment with the age and level of swim instruction needed. We will look to support a program that serves beginning to advanced/competitive swimmers. We also welcome the support of anyone that just feels this is a beneficial project. Thank you taking part our mission.

It can be difficult for military children living in or around Big Navy to access to access a quality swim club on Guam. Access to a swim team is a question often asked by families PCSing to Guam. In the past, Naval Station Guam had a swim team named "Typhooz". UPDATE OPTION: Naval Base Guam is also included in a Joint Marianas Armed Forces Swim Team through the Andersen Marlins -and we simply need to be allowed a practice time at CKFC for location convenience for families living closer to NBG. It is time to bring a swim club back to base to enhance the military community and resources available to our families. There is a fantastic facility at Charles King Fitness Center that would make a wonderful home for lessons and training .

Swimming is an outstanding activity for people of all ages. Swimming promotes fitness and teaches a child to strive for personal achievement. It teaches goal orientation and promotes a positive mental attitude and high self esteem. Swimming is relatively injury free when compared to other youth sports. Did you know that risk of drowning and obesity are some of the biggest threats to our children today? Swimming is the cure.

Support our mission to offer a quality swimming program for our military families and children through MWR Guam by signing our petition today.
